This post, “Peace” was written for my WordPress blog called Always Growing by Jan in Covington, Louisiana
Today was one of those hectic days we all have sooner or later – though to tell the truth, it seems that there are more of them now than ever before. When I finally came home from work, I was exhausted both mentally and physically.
I came inside, dropped my purse, tote bag, and keys on the floor and immediately went into the garden. I sat in the side garden which is enclosed on all four sides by either the house or large shrubbery. This is where I go when I need to relax. It is secluded, cool, and calming. It is just what I needed. After resting and enjoying the plants, I was able to then walk around the garden and take the time to enjoy what is blooming and growing. Soon, I was able to go inside and fix dinner without being stressed out. I guess this may be what is meant by a healing garden. I hope you have at least one spot in your garden where you can go to relax and regroup. If not, think about creating one you will use.
